Magic glue form Balt is a new variation of cyanoacrylate adhesive liquid embolic agent. It is said to have delayed polymerisation with less adhesion to the microcatheter making it easier to use than conventional cyanoacrylate. It wll be interesting to see how it compares with Glubran?
read full descriptionThis is a synthetic surgical glue based on cyanoacrylate with the addition of a monomer. It is biodegradable and impermeable to liquids. It seems to be more predictable and easier to use than hystoacryl (monomeric n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate) with less likelyhood of catheter fixation....
read full descriptionN-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) can be used as a liquid embolic agent when mixed with Lipiodol to make it radio opaque. The ratio affects the polymerisation time. The more lipiodol then the slower the time to solidify and the deeper the vascular penetration generally.
