Description

From Which Medical Device

The MUTARS partial pelvis replacement from implantcast is a customised pelvic reconstruction system for use after tumour resection including the acetabulum. The device is intended to fix into the remnant of the pelvis, and can be augmented with cancellous bone screws.

In a prospective multicentre study, the implant showed a 3 year survival of 61%, with infection a major complication requiring revision of the implant.1
