Description

From Which Medical Device

Chondrotissue is a 1-step, cell-free implant for joint cartilage repair.
It is used to treat traumatic or degenerative cartilage defects in combination with marrow stimulating techniques such as microfracturing or Pridie drilling.

Clinical studies demonstrate that chondrotissue leads to defect covering and filling and the formation of cartilaginous repair tissue. It alleviates pain, reduces cartilage defect-associated symptoms and increases mobility. Chondrotissue is a bioresorbable polymer and contains hyaluronic acid which safeguards important functions in the joints and articular cartilage.

The scaffold itself is mechanically stable, supple, flexible and can be cut to fit the size of the defect.
