Description

From Which Medical Device

This device uses non focussed ultrasound to generate frictional heating in soft tissues and nerve damage at depth. The ultrasound transducer is in a low pressure balloon which, according to the manufacturer, is said to help centre the device within the vessel. The balloon enables cooled fluid to circulate protecting the endothelial wall. Apparently, the nerves are damaged around the whole circumference of the vessel in one single energy emission.

There is a first in man study currently recruiting (REALISE) REnAL denervatIon by ultraSound Transcatheter Emission
