From Which Medical Device

The EkoSonic Endovascular Device is designed for controlled and selective infusion of clinician specified fluids, including thrombolytics into the peripheral vasculature.

According to the manufacturer, it penetrates thrombus in difficult–to-reach places and uses 50% - 70% less lytic drug. Also, with no thrombus fracture or breakage, EkoSonic reduces the risk of distal embolism.
