Description

From Which Medical Device

The Instrument handle with integrated electronics from Fraunhofer is a prototype device, but demonstrates a very attractive idea; that the instrument handle could guide surgeons as to the right amount of torque to place on a screw by lighting up when the correct torque is applied. The device can be charged using an inductive charging process and the device is sealed and can be sterilised. Unfortunately it is not yet available for use in an operating theatre!
