I guess you would need a tumour with a relatively firm consistency and a decent capsule for this to work...

Yes this could probably be used where contamination is a concern although haemostasis is the primary objective. The biopsy should be done through a coaxial guide (14-20G). I think this would also be good for splenic biopsy where FNA is not sufficient.

Would this work for retroperitoneal or intraabdominal tumours or those where contamination is a concern?
