The Global Tissue Sparing (GTS) primary hip stem is a short uncemented hip stem intended to spare bone and possibly soft tissue. In an early series of 81 stems in 80 patients, there was one calcar fracture and no loosening at a mean of 16 months (6 to 24 months).
