In a prospective randomised double-blind study, researchers from the Hacettepe University, Ankara have demonstrated that using wii-sports after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is as good as conventional rehabilitation. The team randomised thirty volunteer patients to 12 week programmes comprising standard rehabilitation or Wii-hab including the balance board and Wii Sports and Sports Pro games.  Participants were indistinguishable on measures of knee strength, balance and functional squat tests at the first, 8th and 12th weeks postoperatively.
