From Which Medical Device

The Merit MAK (Mini Access Kit) and S-MAK (Stiffened Mini Access Kit) introducer devices have been designed to provide access to the vascular system.

Merit says that the devices facilitate the percutaneous placement of 0.035" (0.89mm) or 0.038" (0.97mm) guide wires into the vascular system. They claim that by starting with a smaller needle, trauma to surrounding tissue and bleeding are minimised.

The devices are available in kits and as individual components.
