This device is manufactured by AprioMed and distributed by Macromed. The Gangi-SoftGuard® combines the technique of a coaxial biopsy needle with a spring loaded blunt tip stylet to providing extra control and safety during soft tissue biopsy.
According to AprioMed, the spring loaded blunt tip stylet reduces risk of inadvertent perforation, provides visual and tactile feedback and enables penetration without exchange of stylets.
The device is only available in selected markets and is not available in the US.
