Description

From Which Medical Device

The PICO is a single use negative pressure wound therapy system from Smith and Nephew.  The device and dressing can be used for up to seven days.  Rather than use a canister, the PICO dressing move exudate away from the wound and initiates evaporation.  The dressing is straightforward to apply and differs from the sponge-based VAC system. However, it seems more suited to wounds with low volumes of exudate and without large cavities.
