EN snare from Merit Medical is one of the best choices when a part of CVC has been lost intravascular.
Usually the part pass trough the right heart into the pulmonary circle, if part of the CVC (or the lost wire) are "free" in a main vessel this "tulip shaped" device allows you to get the foreign body saving time, exposure and patient risk: the wide opening of the device covers a huge part of the engaged vessel multiplying the opportunity to entrap the target.
Sometimes the snares seems to be "too soft" to engage the foreign body, in my experience it is because you are using the wrong device, the EN snare is a must for your shelf, but every retrieval has a own story and the proper device must be selected to get the result.
