Product Description

(From Which Medical Device)

The Amplatzer Vascular Plug 4 is delivered through a 0.038 diagnostic catheter which increases the options for using these types of vascular occluders. The type 4 plug effectively has 4 layers of occluding mesh. The advantage of this type of plug is its flexibility and small profile allowing it to reach more distal vessels than the type 2 plug. The plug can block vessels that normally require several coils and can be repositioned prior to final release. This plug does not as yet have FDA approval.

The Amplatzer Vascular Plug 4 has received European CE Mark approval.

Used these recently to exclude a splenic artery aneurysm (too tortuous for a stent graft). Worked very well although they're almost invisible except the marker and you need to take care that the .038 catheter you've used will actually accomodate the device.
