The Trabecular Metal Osteonecrosis Intervention Implant from Zimmer is intended for use in osteonecrosis of the femoral head, in Ficat and Arlet Stage 1 or 2 (ie precollapse) disease. 

A study by Varitimidis et al (1) suggested an improvement in function after implantation, but no effect on the underlying disease process.
