Taewoong Medical Co., Ltd. was established as a private enterprise in 1991with the ambition to open a new era in the field of less invasive interventional therapy.
In 1995, the company invented the self-expandable vascular stent which can cure aneurysm patients without operation in cooperation with Seoul National University Department of Diagnostic Radiology. Since 2001, their gastrointestinal stents achieved the CE mark and Taewoong has become a leading medical device provider exporting to more than 40 countries.
