Description

From Which Medical Device

The Summit Cemented Hip Replacement System from Depuy-Synthes is a cemented stem which is a modification of the original Charnley design. The aims of these modifications were to increase torsional stability, increase offset options and improve the cement mantle (for example with the integral stem centraliser). Design features include proximal stem centralisers and a flange for proximal cement compression, a midshaft I-beam profile, and a satin surface finish.

The device has an ODEP 3A rating in the UK.

The operative technique can be found here.
