Description

From Which Medical Device

The PediGuard(R) device from SpineGuard is a handheld device which alerts spinal surgeons to potential pedicular or vertebral breaches when inserting spinal pedicle screws. The device measures the electrical conductivity of tissue and emits an audible signal which changes when the conductivity changes from medium (cancellous bone) to low (cortical bone) or high (periosteum or blood).

The device comes in classic, curved and cannulated variants.
