This video shows the insertion of the Medcomp Splitsream Dialysis catheter using an over the wire technique and no peelaway sheath. This new version of the line has a new type of extension for connection. Dr Phil Haslam, Consultant Intervenional Radiologist
A descriptive video from Medcomp focusing on the use of the Split Stream Catheter.
This video demonstrates the technique for inserting the Medomp Split Stream Dialysis catheter using an 'over the wire' technique without a peelaway sheath. This is particularly useful for left sided punctures where you may not be able to pass the sheath into the SVC. Dr Phil Haslam, Consultant Interventional Radiologist, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne Dr Bhaskar Ganai, Specialist Registrar, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne
This video shows our first attempt to insert the Split Stream catheter from Medcomp, a variation on the Ash split catheter. The advantage of this catheter is that the tip can be accurately placed prior to tunneling. The catheter connectors can also be replaced if damaged similar to the Tessio catheter. In this video the catheter was placed through a peelaway sheath, but it can also be placed over the wire without the use of the sheath. Placement seems pretty simple. The attachment of the connectors is in fact a lot simpler than the IFU implies.
