Description

From Which Medical Device

The SwiftNinja™ is designed for selective microcatheter insertion without the use of a guidewire. A steering dial mechanism allows it to articulate up to 180 degrees in opposing directions to quickly select the most challenging vascular ostium. There are two radiopaque marker bands for enhanced navigation and placement of the steerable, rotating tip which can be locked into position.

The SwiftNinja™ can potentially simplify and shorten the procedure, reduce guide wire induced spasms and decrease radiation exposure.

The device is only available outside US at the moment although it is expected to be marketed in the US, later in 2016.

The tip is 2.4F increasing to 2.9F morce proximally. The Courier Enzo microcatheter from micrus is 2.9F.

The catheter takes a 0.018inch guidewire, but can be used without.
