Description

From Which Medical Device

The Maxera ™ Cup from Zimmer is a large diameter ceramic acetabular component. The ceramic is Biolox delta, the design includes a 180 degree full hemisphere, with three anti-rotation fins. Large diameter heads ranging from 32mm to 48mm are available. The bearing is intended for younger patients who might benefit from the low wear characteristics and stability of a large ceramic bearing. The hemispherical design is shared by the Trilogy, Converge and Continnum acetabular systems from Zimmer, and the surface is coated with titanium vacuum plasma spray.

The cup is not yet available in the United States.  We are not aware of published results for this implant.
