In a prospective randomised study, researchers used GraftJacket acellular human dermal matrix to augment rotator cuff repairs of greater than 3cm. Results were better in the augmented group at a mean of 24 months of follow up, and there were more intact cuffs seen on MRI. The team from Plano Orthopaedic Centre in Texas reported no adverse effects.
