RTT News reports that Zimmer Holdings has received FDA clearance for the company to market iASSIST Knee, a personalised guidance system for knee replacement procedures.

The iASSIST Knee comprises small electronic disposable pod components and provides accurate alignment validation through an electronic display at the site of the knee replacement surgery.

According to the manufacturer, the iASSIST Knee enables accurate positioning and alignment of a knee implant as an alternative to more complex and costly intensive navigation and robotic systems.
