Description

From Which Medical Device

The Moje metatarso-phalangeal replacement is a press-fit ceramic device intended for the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The major indication is hallux rigidus.
MId term results have shown reasonable clinical outcomes (minimal or no pain in 67% of 63 components in 48 patients at a mean follow up of 44 months) but a high rate of radiological loosening or subsidence (McGraw et al). Another review of 24 implants in 22 patients demonstrated a median AOFAS score of 80 out of 100, and a 3-year revision rate of 12.5% (Barwick et al).
