Metacarpophalangeal replacement
This is a prospective study of 39 Elektra prostheses in 37 patients. 7/38 (24%) were revised after 36 months, usually after loosening of the trapezial component.

This is a longitudinal cohort study of 19 prostheses. Nine patients had pain at the trapeziometacarpal joint with osteolysis around the trapezial. Only ten of the 19 implants showed no sign of failure. Most problems derived from the trapezial component. The authors could not recommend this implant.
