This is a clinical series of 352 patients with trochanteric fractures treated with the Targon PF nail. The authors conclude it is a safe and effective fixation system.

This large randomised trial of 598 patients with trochanteric fractures compared the Targon PF nail to a sliding hip screw. There were no differences in deformity, shortening or complications, but a tendency to return to mobility faster with an intramedullary nail.
