A novel dual function angioplasty balloon which enables multiple vascular procedures to be undertaken with just one dual function catheter potentially saving on time and costs.

It is the first dual functional balloon dilatation catheter that combines angioplasty and the proprietary VisioValve(TM) Injection System. A switch built into the catheter hub/handle to allow injection of contrast media or other liquids without removing the guidewire. In this way, a clincian may angioplasty a lesion and then perform a check angiogram without removing the guidewire or moving the balloon. This is likely to reduce the risk of losing access and reduce procedure times.

The balloon is semicompliant and 4cm in length which may have advantages with complex angioplasty and fistula work.

The device gained the CE mark in May 2013 and FDA approval in July 2013.
