1) what are the radiological changes post intervention and the timeframe to these changes? -you can\'t really gauge changes until 3 months, but response can continue on the 6 month imaging and beyond.
2)do you think it reduces tumour burden significantly and is it going to become more mainstream? Yes we have seen some excellent results. I hope it will become more mainstream in the future but this will need RCTs to report and for it to be incorportaed into treatmnet guidelines (ie BCLC for HCC)
3)Is there a steep learning curve for the technique involved? yes there is. Technically i think SIrtex is more difficult than Theraspheres due to the more complex and frequent need for pre SIRT embolisation.

I have experience of SIRT to treat primary and secondary liver tumours using SIRTEX resin and more recently Theraspheres glass beads.
