Evidence

This study compares the Mayday nail to external fixation for knee fusion. Union rates were higher (91% vs 29%) in the intramedullary nail group.

This is a series of 14 patients with infected knee arthroplasties leading to knee fusion. Union was achieved in 13 at a mean of 4 months (3 to 10).
