From Which Medical Device

Tisseel is a two component fibrin sealant that consists of human fibrinogen and human thrombin. When combined the two components mimic the final stage of the blood coagulation cascade. This product has been used extensively for sealing tissue during surgery and to aid haemostasis. More recently the thrombin component of the kit has been used for pseudoaneurysm ablation with great success and a high degree of safety in experienced hands.
