Biomechanics of Exeter hip replacement:
Modular with a choice of larger 28 and 32 mm heads

bigger head provide greater stability,but Increase volumetric wear and lead to the use of thinner layer of poly

No collar ,therefor,neck cut level & orientation are not critical

Polished – allow subsidence to stable position

Centralizer allow subsidence without excessive forces on cement

Double tapered

Stainless Steel

Designed by Ling & Lee - 1st implanted in 1970

NJR: 95% survival at 15 years
