Although the effect was small, the paper by Baker et al from the NJR demonstrated better patient reported outcomes with the NexGen knee compared with others. (Baker et al, J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2012 Aug;94(8):1058-66).

The 2012 NJR results for the NexGen knee showed a 7 year revision rate of 2.79% (2.54 - 3.05%) which was within the middle of the range. The best was the MRK knee (1.33%, range 0.88-2.02%), and the highest rate of revision was the Kinemax at 3.50% (3.10 to 3.94%). NexGen remains a popular choice in the UK.
